LEGO Robotics

Welcome to First Lego League (FLL) at East Woods School. This program is designed to embrace the students passion for science and engineering, and engage them in a collaborative effort to solve a real-world challenge. Problem solving and critical thinking skills will be used alongside the LEGO Core values to solve this challenge. Drink in the 2017 HYDRO DYNAMICS season and learn all about water – how we find, transport, use, or dispose of it.

In FIRST LEGO League, children are immersed in real-world science and technology challenges. Teams design their own solution to a current scientific question or problem and build autonomous LEGO robots that perform a series of missions. While taking part in this program, students will be required to work as part of a team, display proper sportsmanship, complete a research project, and attend weekly team meetings. The LEGO challenge is comprised of two parts: the Project and the Robot Games. Working with their teammates, students will have to build a robot and program the robot to complete the missions. Students will analyze, research and invent a solution to the challenge posed. Through their participation, children develop valuable life skills and discover exciting career possibilities while learning that they can make a positive contribution to society.

* Are team players
