Social Emotional Learning

East Woods School is committed to providing our students with the tools they need for academic success and personal growth. We believe that social and emotional learning is a fundamental pillar of a comprehensive education. As part of our holistic educational approach, we have integrated Wayfinder, a leading Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum, into our school programs. Developed at Stanford University's d.school, Wayfinder equips students with future-ready skills, helping them build a strong sense of purpose, belonging, and resilience.

The curriculum focuses on six core competencies (self-awareness, adaptability, empathy, collaboration, agency, and purpose) for student development. The flexibility allows integration into Upper School Advisory and various parts of the Early Childhood Center and Lower School day. These competencies go beyond the classroom, preparing students to navigate the complexities of today's world with confidence and integrity.
