Cultural Connections

East Woods School dedicates itself to providing enriching extracurricular activities that inspire and engage our students.

Theater Club

The EWS Theater Club gives students in Seventh and Eighth Grade an opportunity to see major Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Students commit themselves to one show at a time, with opportunities four times per year.

The Theater Club has had the good fortune to experience many wonderful and exciting shows throughout the years and on occasion, cast members have joined us after their performances to greet the students and answer their questions.

Included in the day is lunch at some of New York’s most famous attractions such as John’s Pizzeria and a variety of restaurants in Chinatown and Little Italy.

Culture Club

Members of the EWS Culture Club travel to New York City to experience a slice of the Big Apple. What began as an opportunity for Seventh and Eighth graders to share cultural experiences quickly became a way for our students to foster greater bonds between the classes.

Examples of what our students may experience range from a New York Knicks basketball game at MSG, to a tour of Radio City Music Hall and of NBC Studios, or a tour and a dinner at the famed Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, and much, much more.
