Maps and Flags
Flags of the World
"Flags of the World (FOTW) is the Internet's largest site devoted to vexillology (the study of flags)." You may choose from a country list, or click on a map to find a flag. Included in each entry is a description of each flag.
Geography-Merriam Webster's Atlas
Select a country or state from the pull-down menus. Each entry contains a map, brief facts on the type of government found, population, land use, etc. Included for each entry is a small picture of that nation's flag with a brief history of the flag, its symbols, and origin.
National Geographic's Map Machine
At this site you will find World and US maps of all types and also a section called flags and facts.
World Flag Database
Use the alphabetical index on the left side of the page to find a listing of countries. Thumbnail pictures of maps are linked to additional pages containing brief factual information on each nation and a large color image of the flag.
