Q. What are the school hours?

A. Pre-Nursery:
8:00 am – 12 noon
Nursery & Pre-K:
Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 12noon; Friday from 8:00 am to 12:15 pm
Kindergarten – Fourth Grade:
Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm; Friday from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm
Fifth Grade-Eighth Grade:
Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; Friday from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm

Q. Is the school open year round?

A. Our school follows a traditional school calendar from September to June. During the summer, Camp East Woods is open to the public for seven weeks.

Q. Are extended programs available?

A. Yes, we certainly do. For detailed information please see our After School Programs.

Q. How is the lunch program organized?

A. Lunch is served family-style with a teacher at the head of each table. There are three lunch periods at East Woods. Kindergarten and First grade eat from 11:25 am to 11:55 am; Second through Fourth grade eat from 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm; Fifth through Eighth grade eat from 1:25 pm to 1:55 pm. The students are randomly assigned to tables and they rotate each month to allow students to get to know one another.

Q. Is transportation available?

A. Bus service may be available from your local school district if you qualify. Applications to your school district are due by April 1st of each year for the upcoming school year. Contact your school district for more information, or reach out to Amy Forman, our Transportation coordinator.

Q. What is the Dress Code at East Woods?

A. Our students adhere to a dress code that provides clear expectations for appropriate attire. Please click here to read the current dress code policy. The information can also be found in the student/parent handbook. We do not require our Pre-Nursery students to follow a dress code.

Q. What is the average class size?

A. The average class size at East Woods in the Early Childhood Center varies by grade. For Kindergarten through Eighth grade it is approximately 12:1.

Q. Is tuition increased every year?

A. Tuition increases, if any, are not automatic. The Board of Trustees evaluates tuition rates each year and determines the level necessary to support the quality of programs East Woods offers.

Q. Is tuition assistance available?

A. Yes, tuition assistance is available and parents who may need tuition assistance are encouraged to apply. Please see the Tuition & Financial Aid page or contact Laura Kang, Head of School, with any questions.
