Paper, Plastic, and Glass Recycling

	Paper, plastic, and glass recycling at East Woods School has been a strong commitment on the part of the students, faculty and staff for over three years. Every Wednesday morning, around 7:35 am, a dedicated group of volunteers (no previous sign-up required) meet in the dining hall, organize the collection of the contents of all the recycling bins located in each room and gathers the papers outside the dining hall. This experience is fun and valuable for the students who decide to come early to school on Wednesdays.

	Ink and Toner Cartridges
	To expand on the recycling program, with the support of Mrs. Sacco, we have added a printer cartridge component. Since cartridges do not decompose, each one that we recycle will help the environment and profit our school through a return-reward program. Each cartridge, depending on its style, will benefit our school for up to $3.00. We would truly appreciate your support in saving your printer cartridges. Two recycling bins are located in the computer lab, one for ink-jet cartridges and one for laser toner cartridges.

	Paper and Plastic Recycling The paper, plastic and can recycling program is very active at East Woods. Volunteer students meet every Wednesday morning, before school starts, at 7:30 a.m. in the lunch room. They are dispatched through the building, collect the content of the recycling bins, and weigh it. It is a very efficient team who accomplishes a tremendous job before they have to report to class! In order to reduce the amount of paper, cans, and plastic that we use at East Woods, the team of volunteers weigh the paper and plastic bottles and report it to all the students. September 14th, the paper weighed 210 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 3 lbs. September 21st, the paper weighed 174 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 2 lbs. September 28th, the paper weighed 143 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 12 lbs. October 5th, the paper weighed 130 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 5 lbs. October 12th, the paper weighed 89 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 3 lbs. October 19th, the paper weighed 88 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 4 lbs. November 2nd, the paper weighed 67 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 4 lbs. November 9th, the paper weighed 86 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 4 lbs. November 16th, the paper weighed 80 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 3 lbs. November 23rd the paper weighed 92 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 3 lbs. Febuary 22nd, the paper weighed 65 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 2 lbs.   Febuary 29th, the paper weighed 106 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 3 lbs.   March 7th, the paper weighed 123 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 17 lbs.    March 28th, the paper weighed 148 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 10 lbs.  April 4th, the paper weighed 142 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 7 lbs.    April 11th, the paper weighed 113 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 9 lbs.    April 18th, the paper weighed 94 lbs, and the plastic bottles weighed 5 lbs.    April 25th, the paper weighed 170 lbs, amnd the plastic weighed 10 lbs.   May 9th, the paper weighed 232 lbs, amnd the plastic weighed 5 lbs.   May 16th, the paper weighed 115 lbs, amnd the plastic weighed 5 lbs.
