The Nursery Curriculum explores a myriad of themes each month. We will put a monthly newsletter on our web page so that you are aware of what we are studying. This will help to strengthen the link between home and school and to reinforce what the children are learning. We look forward to an exciting year.
Themes
• An introduction to classroom life and routines. We will be getting to know one another.
• Apple season- tasting different kinds of apples and graphing our favorites.
• House/family- dictating stories
• Science table- we will explore our sense of touch. We have a “touch box” where the children guess what’s inside by using only their hands. We will be making the children’s names in sand so that they can feel the shapes of the letters.
• Math- we will be making a number book each month to help reinforce counting, one to one correspondence and number recognition.
• Language Arts- the children will be making a house and will dictate a story about it to be read in the 'author’s chair'.
