This year began with the study of Oyster Bay, specifically, Raynham Hall, home to the Townsend family during the Revolutionary War. The students traveled back in time (although there were a few doubters!) to the time of the Revolutionary War both at Raynham Hall and in class, taking on the role of Patriots or Redcoats, as explained in the educational comic book, A Spy for General Washington. The students will begin writing paragraphs using the information learned during our field trip. |
