The First Grade class held their Endangered Animal Presentation on Friday, May 20, National Endangered Species Day. The presentation showcases the students' many talents and reading skills and requires each to construct her/his very own research report on an assigned endangered animal.
The first grade students sang, read original poems, and each presented a PowerPoint, wearing the animal masks that she/he created in art class. A bat, butterfly, blue whale, banana frog, Hawaiian monk seal, monkey-eating eagle, and a Galapagos tortoise were just a few of the endangered species represented.
EWS would like to thank Mrs. Aquilino, Ms. Maass, and Mrs. Mackiewicz for coordinating the project. It was spectacular and the students' poise on the stage was remarkable.
Also, many thanks to Ms. Ucci and Mrs. Sacco for all of the work they did with the students in their art and computer classes, Mrs. Bader for providing the music during rehearsal, and to Mr. Knight for audio and video. EWS would also like to thank the parents for their support with the raffle, which raised money for two great environmental charities. |
