On Saturday January 23, the Ninth Grade had the chance to see 'Stomp,' a unique and energetic show where everyday objects are used as percussion instruments. Following a delicious meal at a cozy Mediterranean-style restaurant in Greenwich Village, the Ninth grade walked to the theater.
'Stomp' consists of about seven or eight performers who turn household items such as garbage cans, plastic bags, brooms, matchboxes, lighters, tubes and even sinks into musical instruments by tapping, banging and shaking them in a variety of rhythmic patterns. Their talent and skill is unbelievable, and the students were all impressed by their tremendous creativity.
The day was a wonderful bonding experience for the Ninth Grade! The Ninth Grade would like to thank Mr. Huneke and Ms. Brunetti for accompanying them and coordinating the day.
