Rules for Theater Club and Culture Club participants!
v During Theater Club trips and Culture Club excursions, all students are expected to follow all school rules. The following are particular policies that apply to members of the two clubs.
v Students must hand in a signed East Woods charge slip to Mr. Huneke. There will be a deadline that students must meet. The deadline is provided in writing, and students are reminded of it verbally numerous times. (Oral commitments from students without a charge slip will not be accepted under most circumstances).
v Students who miss the deadline are not permitted to make alternate arrangements to be part of the trip, i.e. purchase an individual ticket and join the group at the site or take someone else’s ticket without checking with me first.
v Parental commitment in the form of a note or an e-mail is accepted. In that case, the charge slip is still due by the established deadline.
v If a student signs up for a trip, (pays for the trip) then something else comes up later, i.e. a family obligation or perhaps a game, (and that’s perfectly ok, as it happens all the time,) please inform me ASAP and the ticket will be donated to someone who can help with the trip. Once the ticket is purchased, there are no refunds.
v Students are encouraged to bring cell phones, but phones will not be allowed to be used unless specific permission by a faculty member is given.
v When students need to use the restrooms they must travel in groups of at least 2 or 3.
v Students must be in good academic and social standing. If they fail a course, receive a 4 or 5 in effort, consistently miss assignments, or consistently “get in trouble,” they won’t be allowed to attend trips during the time period in question.
v If a student receives a behavioral referral on the trip, or simply does not behave appropriately, the student will participate in the next trip only at the discretion of Mr. Huneke in consultation with Mr. Carter.
v Students must be on time for the meeting on the day of the trip. If we travel by train, which is our means of travel, students will not be allowed to meet in the city, unless previous arrangements were made.
v If other arrangements are made for pickup, they must be brought to the attention of Mr. Huneke
v If the student is not present at the time of the train departure, the ticket will be offered to others who will meet the group at the site. DO NOT make an attempt to meet the group in NYC as the ticket will already have been “spoken for.”
The trips are always a great experience and everyone has a wonderful time, especially when everyone collaborates, follows instructions and behaves responsibly.
