The Head of the Table program needs parental volunteers to commit to cover a lunch table for the first or second lunch each Thursday for a month (or more if you wish). Parents may also choose to cover tables at both lunches if they have children at both lunches.
Not only will you be able to share special school time with your child and his or her classmates and get a real glimpse into their world, but your participation provides the teachers with a half-hour weekly window to meet for staff meetings and/or some down time. It is a win-win opportunity for all of us.
1st lunch is for Kindergarten and 1st grade from 11:15-11:45 am; 2nd lunch is for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades and will be held from 12:15-12:45 pm. Parents should plan to arrive in the lunchroom 10 minutes prior to their scheduled lunch.
This year, the Head of Table lunch program will begin on October 7th, and will continue to be scheduled for alternating Thursdays.
