The Nursery Program eases the child’s passage from home and family to school. The Nursery children at East Woods become part of a group of peers, playing, sharing, listening and doing things together. They transition away from parallel play and enjoy interacting and socializing. Simple rituals, for example preparing for a snack, give children practice in counting and delivering napkins, pouring juice and cleaning up. The important skills (numbers, motor control, social responsibility) are the foundation for later academics and success in school. Children are exposed to materials that develop social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. The Nursery Program teaches children that learning is fun.
Nursery consists of two classes: Nursery North and Nursery South.
